Dear Chat Room Visitor,

During the past months E-Shop Enterprises (which owns the JS/VJ chatroom) has received an increase in the number of complaints relating to chatters who use unacceptable language/behavior in the room.

This is of particular concern to us, as until now, we have not been able to assure that minors do not enter the room and had little control in identifying abusive users.

We at E-Shop Enterprises, LLC are determined to keep the chat room FREE and open to the public. However, we are equally determined to do our best to protect users from inappropriate influences.

We believe that the new format of the chat room will ultimately make the room a better, safer and higher quality room

As of February 2004, the Chat room will work in a new format:

Anyone wishing to partake in the Jewishstreet / Virtualjerusalem chat room will do the following:

1. A one-time signup will be instituted. Users will choose a “username” and provide personal information. This information will remain strictly confidential and will be submitted over a secure server. Registration information will include:

a. Name
b. Daytime Phone
c. Valid Email address
d. User's valid credit card number. ( The credit card will never be charged but is required only as an attempt to insure that all users are adults.) If you are an adult but do not own a credit card, or want to register by phone - you may call our office to register. US 323-939-9377
e. A personal password will be emailed to you within minutes of your registration.

We are aware of the slight inconvenience involved but we are confidant that this procedure will provide you with a safer and more enjoyable experience.
